Introduction

This documentation covers Ci4Rail part number S114-KIT01-00.

Purpose

The demo kit lets you evaluate LYVE components in real-world scenarios:

• Install the tracelet on cars, buses, or trams
• Validate indoor positioning via UWB (ultra-wideband)
• Validate outdoor positioning via GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)
• Experience dead reckoning in areas with limited or no UWB/GNSS reception

Package contents

The kit contains:

• SIO02 tracelet
• Base plate with magnets for mounting the tracelet on a vehicle
• Base plate for in-vehicle components:
• Power bank supplying the tracelet
• EVU04 breakout adapter for accessing tracelet signals
• LTE/WLAN router providing connectivity and acting as hub
• SIM card for the router
• Cable harness between the tracelet and in-vehicle components
• Six UWB satlets and one UWB checklet
• Required software components (available online)

Prerequisites

• Vehicle (car, bus, or tram) with available wheeltick signal
• Windows 11 PC that allows software installation and offers Bluetooth Low Energy 4.0 or newer

Setup Guide

Follow these steps to commission the demo kit:

1. Prepare your PC
2. Configure the IP network
3. Deploy the UWB infrastructure
4. Install the tracelet in the vehicle
5. Configure the tracelet
6. Run the demo
