Ci4Rail has carefully developed and produced the SIO07 to meet all SIO07 features and to ensure high quality for a long SIO07 life.

Nevertheless, to ensure that you as the SIO07 user have long lasting satisfaction with our SIO07 and to prevent bodily injury during handling of the SIO07, please read the following safety instructions carefully.

We know it's boring, but it prevents damage to yourself and the SIO07.

Conditions of use / scope of application

The SIO07 is designed to function properly under the market, application and environmental conditions specified in the applicable standards listed in the Technical Data. Use cases in environments that go beyond the requirements in the applicable standards and the technical data must be coordinated between Ci4Rail and the customer. The SIO07 is not suitable for use in areas where children may be present.

Qualified personnel

The SIO07 described in this documentation should only be operated by personnel who are qualified for the task at hand in accordance with the relevant documentation, in particular the warnings and safety instructions. Qualified personnel are those who, due to their training and experience, are able to identify risks and avoid potential hazards when working with these products/systems.

General Safety Instructions

  • Please read the safety instructions carefully.
  • For future reference, note the link to this user documentation.
  • Store, install and operate the SIO07 only within it's specifications to prevent personal and product damage.
  • Always apply recommended voltage and power source settings.
  • Always apply proper earthing before powering.

  • Do not operate the SIO07 in case of

    • Obvious damage
    • SIO07 was exposed to liquid
    • Power cord is damaged.

    .. in this case, exchange SIO07 and send request for inspection. - Unverified accessories may cause malfunction or damage to the SIO07. Please use only recommended accessories by Ci4Rail.

Protection from Electric Shock

Warning

The SIO07 can be operated with DC voltages above 60 V DC. Improper handling can lead to serious injury or even death by electric shock.

The following safety instructions are mandatory:

  • Remove from power before SIO07 installation or de-installation
  • Remove from power before asseccories installing / de-installing
  • Do not open the SIO07; For safety reasons (SIO07 can be operated at higher voltage level than 60V DC), only qualified service personnel shall open the SIO07.
  • Use only appropriate tools and personal protective equipment.
  • Protect the SIO07 from water or liquid sources - for cleaning, please use a dry or damp cloth.

Electrostatic Sensitive Products

The SIO07's sensitive components are protected by the housing. Nevertheless, beware that damage can be done by improper handling of electrical components, especially when you open the service flap or handle with accessories.

ESD

To protect the SIO07 from damage caused by static electricity, you should take a few precautions when working with the SIO07:

  • Turn off your system and unplug it if you are working on it.
  • Do not touch PCB level SIO07s without ESD protection.
  • Store the SIO07 only in its original packaging. Keep the original packaging in case you need to send the SIO07 back to Ci4Rail for repair.

Earthing

The SIO07 are designed for protective earthing. If so, please always connect protective earth first and disconnect last for any installation action!

Please apply earthing for any of the following conditions:

  • operative use in vehicles
  • use with input power higher than 60V DC

Earthing prevents damage to persons and the SIO07.
